Worship Intern – St Stephens Community Church

About St Stephens Community Church: We’re a bunch of ordinary but extremely diverse people seeking to know God and make Him known. We love to see people come to faith in Jesus; apply God’s Word to life; be trained and equipped; and we’re committed to reaching out beyond ourselves to build bridges into the community, helping other churches and support God’s work overseas.

The Opportunity: We are seeking someone to join our Sunday worship team as an intern. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a creative team of worshippers and be equipped for future leadership. This role is a formal full-time internship that is fully accredited through NZQA.

The key areas of engagement will be:

–          Sunday worship – There will be both a mix of assisting and leading Sunday worship.

–          Theological Study – Study will be undertaken through Bishopdale Theological College and will be the Diploma in Christian Studies (leadership track). This can be a standalone qualification or can be extended into a degree.

–          Leadership Development – A significant part of this role will be developing the leadership skills required to lead worship. There is also the possibility of, in time, taking full leadership of the Sunday worship team.

Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week) role that includes 20 hours of study and 20 hours of paid practical ministry.

Remuneration: 20 hours at $16.50 per hour and all tuition fees covered.

What we’re looking for: We will be looking for someone who loves Jesus, with a heart for worship, good leadership skills, creativity and the ability to work in a team. You will need to have some experience in leading worship and have the ability to sing and play a musical instrument.

The goal of this internship is to equip you with the passion, skills and ability needed to be able to lead our worship team after the completion of your internship.
